Chat inside a match

when playing 1v1 LAN how do i start a chat within the match itself? ive just got the game and been playing with my brother in another state and i just cant figure out how to start a chat so i dont have to txt mssg or call him during the match.

LoL,  I got a funny image in my head of someone calling someone to tell them *ring ring* "dude!.....I'm ahout to rape you on planet Voldar!"  *hang up* .. lol   ...I think there is a chat button isn't there?  look up in the options and controls.

yeah i looked through the whole list, couldnt even find it in there to map it if i wanted too

Press enter

Press tab to get /a to speak to all allies and again to start cycling though people to whisper to them

if that isn't good enough for you: Xfire will give you a tiny chat room box in the lower right to talk with.  essentially the same, but it might be easier to use.
