Vasari Economy Bug? If not someone please explain.

Hi Sinners,

I've been playing Sins since it came out and am currently playing the latest Entrenchment. Right now, I'm playing against a Normal Vasari on the Derelict Map. I'm not a good player by any means, but I enjoy the game, and I've fought the Vasari for over 4 hours now. I've taken everything on the map, colonoized all planets, mined all asteroids, etc.  The Vasari hold one final planet.

So how come they've got more gold than me, and more crystal? They're still fielding a fleet that has fought me off twice and seems as large as my own. Shouldn't my economy have surpassed them by now? I've got five civilian and military stations and almost all of the upgrades.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks Efferil for such a speedy response. i guess they held them about three hours. I took them away one by one.

It could be that they just amassed a lot of resources and didn't spend them as much as you did; you're spread out to have to deal with logistical, tactical, and ship resources for a whole system.

Have you researched the economy upgrades?

What I've noticed is the AI players don't always spend as quickly on research or planetary upgrades. While you're busy getting the latest and greatest beam weapons and armor, they're busy amassing a fleet of numerically superior, but underequipped, frigates and caps.

Interesting.

Thanks guys, I've deleted the saves with the release of the non-beta version.  I'm gonna try it again and see how it plays out.

Much thanks!

Do you have your fleet logistics fully upgraded or nearly maxed out? Fleep upkeep is a pain in the arse. Generally it will tell you the percentage of money being lost to fleet upkeep. Could be your problem.
