Possible in future for option to turn multi-player stats (win/loss) recording off?

Hi There.

I was wondering in the future if there would be a multi-player option to turn your win/loss statistics off to non-recording.

Personally i am not bothered about whether i win or lose and just want a fun game against humans as i am a casual gamer, however the win/loss ratio recording does daunt me (yes i know it sounds hypocritical) more than anything due to:

You could join a game and because you've not won enough/lost too many people may kick you out of their team/server before the game starts making it harder to get into a game or use the ratio and attack you first (with mutiple people doing it you've already lost). However the first point i am more bothered about than the second.

(For the record i've won more online than i've lost - however not played as many people, of which one of the reasons is if i didn't have time and had to leave i wouldn't want someone accusing me of "cheating" by running away due to that they want their stats win).

I think it might possibly help other players come online, e.g if i am new i might not want to go online because of racking up lots of loses for all to see + don't want someone whos a "pro" using me to knock up their win ratio score.

Obviously i would want the people who are more serious gamers to enjoy themselfs with their stats, so would it be possible to have an option at start, e.g you could choose an option when the multi-player loads (e.g two option boxes - it could just send you to certain lobbys depending on your preferance and both interchangable), one for stats and people who play for points/regularly and one for casual gamers who might just want a game and not stats, or try against human players.

Recording of stats also put me off other online RTS games online modes such as command and conquer, even tho i enjoyed playing them a lot.

(For Stardock you might be able to guage if this is successful or not for both this game and future games potential for the difference between players registered for online gaming and players playing - before and after - and what their overal preferance is, if you have access to this information).

What to do fellow players think?

Well, the stats are currently off anyway (Entrenchment beta3). Last game I played online wasn't registered :-(

Anyway, to your proposal: Maybe a kind of fun-mode could be introduced. No stats, fast games etc.

^^^^^ I agree with him, we do need to create a new mode for casual gamers and experiance gamers...

Belive me mate, people may have massive reocrds like 120w-16l, but half the time you can even tell:)

I agree, I play games with friends, and half the time we cant finish a game before another update comes out. And I have lost like 1 or 2 games that I have actually played when I first started playing online. But other then that it shows so many games that I have been apart of but never completed. I think there should be a game mode for the hardcore, and a game mode for the casual player. Because personaly I dont care about how many times I win or lose. Its all about the fun of playing with friends.

Win/loss records are often abused and misused, and encourage poor behavior.  Frankly, I could care less about whether I had a record or not.  Typically competitive communities self-regulate anyways.  They don't care whether you have 10, 100, or 1000 wins; they care about who you're winning against.
