A tricky standoff

A quick summary of where I'm at:

The Torians are neutral and have the largest military.
The Arceans are neutral and are in last place.
The Altarians are saitly and are in third place, behind me.
The Yor and Drengin have been assimulated..

I'm allied with the Altarians. Have been from the beginning with all trade routes established with them (7 currently) worth about 1100 BC. The Torians are warm toward me but won't ally with me and the Arceans remain neutral no mater what I give them.

The tricky part is the Altarians, Arceans and Torians are allied with each other. I've started a culture take over and two Torian worlds have turned. But this process will take forever. I'd like to simply send the Torians to the stoneage but I'm not sure how my long time ally the Altarians will react.

There are no minors left in the game so getting into a war with everyone will lose all my trade and bankrupt me.

Is there a way/option to break other alliences, in this case between the Torians and Altarians.

Why breaking it? Try getting a Quadalliance! That's what I did in my last game... You can cancel the Traderoutes with the Altarians and make new ones with the Torians to get them close.

Do the same thing with the Arceans when ready...

Start searching the map for influence resources
and trading for them. Its quite expensive but
taking them from the AI and giving them to yourself
can have a massive impact on how fast you can culturally
flip their colonies. I can normally culturally flip 4-6 systems a turn.

I'd trade with them to get them close and make alliances than Id build 10 or 20 terror stars and pace them aroudn lotsa planets and than when you feel like it! BOOM! :D LOL

You know, every time I get a terror star near someone's last few systems, even if I'm "Close" with them, they surround the system with every ship they've got. You'd think they didn't trust me :)

You don't need Terror Stars. They piss people off (and rightly so!) Just build Party Palaces and PPAARR TTEEYY !!!
