Connecting Issues 2D

My partner and I have both pre-ordered the game and have had a horrible time trying to connect to each other or other people for multiplayer games.  This could be very obvious or not but we have noticed that if we both start the game afresh from desktop and go to skirmish room, one of us hosts and it will state:

Port= 6073. The other can join every time without fail.  We play our game have lotsa fun yeah!  THEN the next time we try to host a game, either one of us it will say Port=0.  Nothing we do can change this even taking off auto port and typing in 6073.  If we then restart the game as before we will get Port 6073 and the connection will work.

Hope this helps a little with the netcode issues =)

Hi all! I'm the partner! Really enjoyed the half-dozen games we've managed to have so far, but at best we're getting ~5% success rate joining/hosting games. Have tried on both Vista (x64) and Windows 7 (x64) with every combination of  compatibility settings plausible, but unless the game lobby chatbox is stating the game is hosted on Port 6073 we have no joy. If we both restart the game then very often we'll succeed, but each time we want a new match, we'll need to keep restarting Demigod until it stops reading Port=0.

Will be heading off on holiday for a week very soon, but would be happy to supply any system info that would help sort this problem.

I'm having a similar problem. >_<

I was able to play 2 or 3 games just fine with a friend two days ago, but then we got the infinite "connecting" screen, and couldn't play anymore.  Tried again yesterday and still couldn't get it to work.  But at times others have been able to jump in to a game that I'm hosting (but he can't).  We always restart to ensure the port it tries is 6073 rather than zero. Perplexing since at one time it DID work, and nothing on our end has changed.

Any ideas? I'd really like to get some more testing in.  Thanks!

I totally agree.  I find that I have to reboot windows so that I can get the right port to show up.  So sometimes I just restart the game, sometimes I need to reboot windows.

Also make sure you have a legal version of windows since it uses windows api to authenticate.

We both have legal versions of Windows.  Like I said, we've gotten it to work before.  It just...stoppped.  And hasn't worked since.  The erratic behavior is stumping me.

Yeah since joining the beta (2d) I haven't even been able to connect to a game yet.

Wondering if its my connection or the actual beta.

I actually have been able to play and connect these few nights.  Mostly just 2 player total in the game.   Try hosting a game and make sure it says port 6073 and not port 0.

btw, I'm running Windows 7 beta 32bit and it works fine.
