Adds a mission structure with intro basicly the ability to play a campaign

Ok here is the Demo release for my Campaign mod

Its pretty much fresh out the door so be patient if thier are some errors

Please give feedback on the Legion i need to know how they play out

Known issues:

There are some typos and mispelling i know that but feel free to let me know of ones that bother you and i will put them at the top of the list to fix.

Legion drones are supposed to be temporary in the demo they are not. this is done on purpose so you can expierment with them. after release they will self destruct after 3-5 mins

This release does not included the moddified files for the Order or the ACD

Some meshes might be wrong if you pick up on any please let me know

Goodies:

new faction the legion

biggest thing you will notice is the frigates, cruisers, and capitol ships are all built at the same place (TDP)

all of these ships now gain expierence to lvl 10 however they do cost more and take up more supply. Capitol ships are still much strong then normal ships

Replacing the frigate class are Legion Drones. These ships are crewless and ment to serve as a last line of defense. thier cost is minimal and they build fast but they cannot self repair and are weaker. Included in this is the "drone Missle" a guided fire and forget weapon" the DM does high damage but of course is destroyed on impact.

Also built at the drone facility is the Combat engineer frigate. This ship can deploy mines and defense turrents in foward sectors ( i really want feedback on this)

Upcoming changes:

Will be adding the "Drone Host" a crusier outfitted to launch support drones that serve a wide variety of purposes

Next faction to be added will be the Order. The order will have some unique ships suck as the Kamakazee Frigate (fear the kamakazee zerg) and the propaganda machine witch will have drastic effects on culture.

Also working on new research for all factions

YEAH! got first download!!!

BTW the link is dead on filefront..and I dont mean dead as in not existing but as in when you try and download itll give you an error message saying filefront cannot find the file!

LIARS!!!!!! Orbit download manager goes beyond their protection and gets the mod out no matter the challenge!!

*insert evil laugh here as I am too tired to do it myself*

why can't you put up a regular download I don't have all these special ACE RAR download things. Can't you jsut put up a regular download.

the mod is in beta and is 65mb which zips to less the 15 megs. this mod could easily hit the 500 meg mark or go over it. if you dont zip it you cant get it hosted cause it will be to big. www.winace.com its free

Sounds way cool!!!   :)  Will give it a try and let you know. Can you tell me though? What version of Sins does this run on?

I have Entrenchment, but had some issues with my computer and had to have a friend re-do the whole thing, as in clean and re-install everything, so i am back to 1.12 for now, was going to wait for the Entrenchment 2 beta before re-downloading it again. Anyway, if its for Entrenchment, and with the mines, it sounds like it, but of course, maybe you did your own mine thing, so what do i know? Anyway, if i could know, then i could know if i can run it on 1.12.  :)

ok well just an update on whats going on. been working on the order as they are the second faction that gets introduced in the story. Got the Kamakazee ships working pretty good. and im trying to tweek the "Voice of the faithfull" which is a ship that transports suicide bombers to an enemy ship to sabatoge them bypassing shields. also working on the orders capital ship as they only get 1 i want it to be right. And some of you i know are going that sucks only 1 cap trust me they have pleanty of neat toys elsewhere but they are rebels and it doesnt make sense for them to have a bunch of capital ships going around. I might give them one more if i feel they need it but not more then that. Also the Other faction was named the advent civil milita is being renamed Advent Civil Union (ACU). Ill try to put stuff up on the wiki as i get it done. please post about balance issues or anything you notice that needs fixing right away. if its minor you can mention it but it wont get to the top of the list.

What you say it AWESOME but as for presentation....try pressing ENTER once in a while..really helps the eyes when it comes to reading thoroughly!

just got it and i didn't need to even get win ace all i did was do a trial of some other software. tha tworked too

ACU seriously stealing much from sup com their Armored command unit is going to own you so bad after this.

 

*edit* After i downloaded for some reason i enabled the mod but i don't know what to do after that. How do i play the mod. I have it updated to 1.12. Was this meant for entrenchment or something.

and select it!

Sins has NO ingame scenarios so what your basically doing is starting form a save point!

ok well i should have an update out this weekend or maybe sooner adding the Order faction. also still working on the wiki adding things. let me know how things are working out so i can fix problems / issues with this update

ok just a quick update on what to expect with the Order faction

first they are a rouge faction, meaning they have limited access to military hardware. because of this they will have very limited ship choices but modified to be much stronger then normal.

second due to thier limitations on acces they do not use shield or fighters. this is compansated for by much higher hull / armor count. Im certian this will take testing to get balance right.

major ships to expect:

Arrow of the faith - this is the kamakazee ship type, they ram you, you blow up, pretty simple.

Voice of the faith - this is pretty much thier version of a siege ship, this ship will have a very high culture repel rate as well as bombing capability. still working on some twists to make them unique.

Hand of the faith - this is essentialy a transport ship, not much in the way of armorment it transports suicide bombers to enemy ships and detonates them bypassing shields

Avatar of the faith - this is thier cap ship, as it is right now it is thier only cap ship. It does cost much more both in initial cost and in supply, however it has much more firepower and hull then any other ship in the campaign. There is no ship, probably no 2 ships that can take this down. In addition to its firepower it can launch Convertion Ships which are heavy raiders in squadron format. These raiders are frigate size but highly manuverable

Temple of the faith - This is not a ship it is replacing the hanger defense for tactical. Instead of launching fighters this module has powerfull abilities that have a range of the entire battlefield. Choosing when to use these abilites can determine if you win or lose.

ok so i just relized a problem i should have forseen. because saved gaves are linked to a checksum of a mod every time i update it will invalidate saved games. while this is not a huge problem for me it could cause confusion for people playing the mod. Therefor i will limit updates to only major times and not do minor updates. In addition initialy the download will be a version number with a "T" at the end this stands for Test. this download will be for testing purposes making sure there are no problems and will not include new mission. When i get positive results back i will release an "R" version that has the right mission files this is to minimize do overs.

Mod wont work under entrenchement as entrenchement uses different entity file formats than vanilla sins!

I believe that having Entrenchment does in fact change things. It means many if not all the mods

prior to Entrenchment, which are in a slightly different format wont run.  :(

At least not until the Modders update those to the new version, which will probably happen when Entrenchment goes final and is released to the public for sale.

Sorry about that, i wish we could still run old mods, it would be easier, and it might be possible after the final if they have an Entrenchment or Vanilla version, which i believe they said they will in fact have.

Life is tough...do like the rest of us..create TWO sins dicrectories..one is entrenchement other is vanilla and VOILA! no problems at all. Well on harddrive over stock issues but with 750GB you have more than enough for quite a few copies!!!

 

YOUPI I'm getting THE ULTIMATE EDITION of GalCivII in a few weeks....hope its good (impulsive buy...one the spot I told myself..hey I want it..ten secs later I bought it! DAMN CREDIT CARD!!!) LOL

I did have multiple copies. I have vanilla and entrenchment. Copied the directories. It just isn't working for me. The Game works fine it's the mod. I've even used other mods. The save game either isn't showing or is saying INVALID FILE. Normally it jsut says invalid file.

Id suggest redownload the entire mod (delete other) and try agian..like OP says he keeps on making changes and they cause errors on our side...might be that!
