Some newbie type questions on war rank and valor

War Rank

I understand this is controlled by the amount of flags you control, the more flags you have the more war rank you get. Is there anyway to see this going up? It would be nice to see some visual feedback the affect of capturing flags has on your war rank speed.

Does war rank affect the look of your citadel? As the game progresses I noticed that the look of it (got bigger) changed as the game progressed. What benefits does a bigger citadel give you. How does it tie in with the war rank, does a war rank of 6 for instance make your citadel change, or does it happen at every level?

During the game I will hear "angels have joined the game" or "giants have joined the game". Is this tied in with the war rank as well? So at a certain war rank angels will join? If so is there anyway to know at what level of war rank angels join for instance?

If all the above are tied in to war rank I think it would be nice to see some kind of tree or table with each war rank level and what happens at each level. This way you could see for instance that level 4 brings a citadel upgrade or level 10 gives your access to giants. Also actually showing the war rank on the screen would help.

Valor (points)

How does this work? Do you get valor from simply playing the game or do you have to do something specific? Is this linked in with achievements or is it something completly different?

How do you reset all your valor points and start again?

Flags

To actually capture a flag (and get the war rank benefit) do you have to get the bar completely over to the white side or do you just need to get it past the half way mark? What different does it make to have it at say 60% instead of 100% across, does it affect how much benefit you get? Also do you get any war rank benefit if the bar is say at 90% and not 100%?

Pause

Is there a shortcut key to pause the game? I know I can into the menu and then pause.

You can see your War Rank by right-clicking your Citadel.  I'm not sure if the Citadel gets bigger (and thus stronger) based on the War Rank of on which Citadel upgrades you have.  Right-clicking the Citadel also lets you see the upgrades you can buy to strengthen your units and buildings.

These are actually called "Favor Points".  You get them for getting the achievements.  Look at the Achievement screen from the main menu - you will see your current favor points.  The number on the right side of each achievement is the number of favor points it grants, I think.  I don't think you can reset yet, unless you dig through the game files or reinstall.

You have to get the bar all the way into the white or black part to capture it, otherwise it is neutral.  Flags always grant the same bonus.

I don't think there is a pause button yet :(

Thanks Gnats. I can't find the pause button and i've tried a few combinations so I think you are right.

I wonder if creating a profile and then deleting the old profile will clear all your achievemnts/favor points?

Pretty sure there is a pause key. I think it's just the pause key on your keyboard, or maybe F10, I forget.

F10 just brings up the menu and the game continues. It is possible to pause the game from this menu though. I'm just asking if I can pause the game by pressing a key on the keyboard.

Nope, the pause key doesn't work and F10 is just the menu.
