I've got an issue...I'm set up to triple boot Win7, Vista and XP.  Now, I can't boot into XP.  It gives me the selection at the bootscreen, but when I select it, all I get is a black screen.  Nothing else.  Booting into Vista still works when selected.  I can't find anything on the net on a fix.  Anyone else having this problem?  In the end, it isn't that big a deal as that install of XP was pretty fresh and there weren't many applications on it.  I can always reload.  Just wondered if anyone else knows anything.

Dual/triple booting is always a bit tricky and risky. Especially with Windows OSes. You've got three OSes, each wanting to write its own boot loader when you install it, nothing really cooperating.

Check to make sure your XP partition is marked as being bootable. It may also be that the last OS you isntalled didn't detect everything correctly when installed. I can't really offer that much help, except that frankly the more OSes you try to stuff onto one computer, the more troubles you're likely to get.

Best bet is to install each to a different hard drive, and have the other drives disconnected during each install.

That way, there is no boot manager needed. All you have to do is change the boot order in the BIOS to go to whichever OS you want.

Another advantage of doing this is that (for W7) you won't have to claim ownership of the other drives partition's once the other drives are reconnected. W7 will simply assign a drive letter to each partition and allow normal access.

Emailed Support...but all they said was is they don't support windows 7....did'nt tell me how to fix the problem of not being able to apply downloaded skins with WB in vista....the curious thing is WB will apply the skins that it installed with,but will not apply any downloaded skins????? which makes no sense to me.I have uninstalled ObjectDesktop completely on both partitons and then re-installed it on the vista partiton only and it still won't work...can anyone tell me why and or how to fix the problem??? thanks in advance for any help.

Raven: No, of course they don't support Windows 7 yet. It's not out of beta, and I'm quite certian that WB will need many changes to work with Windows 7 (there are a lot more elements in Windows 7 for WB to skin). It's gonna be a while until they have full support for Windows 7 for all of their products.

If you're having troubles in Vista, however, that's a different story - they should support Vista. Ask support if you're having troubles in Vista.

That was not my experience!  When applying a Windowblind, Win 7 went to Windows 'basic' and I had to reapply Aero.

I really like Windows 7, though I don't dislike Vista like many people seem to. Also I like the superbar, its not too big in my opinion. Now on a small screen I guess, but otherwise it isn't so big that its annoying. I don't know if I really like the launching and open programs thing that way though. Of course I use ObjectDock not the taskbar in Vista, so it doesn't really matter what they do to the taskbar. I did have one issue when I upgraded the Nvidia driver for my card, upon reboot the screen was all black, taskbar was clear but nothing on it except the Start Button, and gadgets were on my screen correctly. So I had to use System Restore. I guess a bad driver atm. Overall though Win7 installed really quick and easily. I will upgrade to it when it is released.

At least for Nvidia cards, you should only use the drivers from Windows Update. Those are the official Nvidia W7beta drivers.
