Lets talk strategy and tactics.

OK I know Demigod isn't any were near being finished so this is hard to discuss, but I was wondering what do people do? Do you do Citadel upgrades? What ones do you do first? What ones do you miss? Do you do the gold increase to try gain an advantage later in the game? Do you upgrade creep numbers asap? When ever I upgrade creep numbers the battle always seems to swing to my favour almost instantly.

What items are staple items (items you MUST have)? Do you stay clear of some items?

Do you rush for flags and get them, but then ignore them later on unless they have a shop?

Talk to me and let me and everyone else know as I'm lost because I never know what to do and just randomly do different things.

I'm a Lord Erebus player (largely)... he's just too awesome.

I pretty much ignore the Citadel at the moment.  A lot of the upgrades there just give the other guy more XP, and Lord Erebus lvl 2 Mist eats bad guys regardless of how "uber" they are.

With Lord Erebus I grab the monk idol first, walk around killing stuff, leveling, then get some mana-regen, and then some +HP and health regen.

Once that's all taken care-of, I typically have bat-port, bit, mist lvl 2, and *maybe* the Vampiric Aura (lvl 15).

*then* I look at citadel upgrades.

Well here is what i have noticed from the last pvp/mostly bot games. The creeps are yet very strong as they get upgraded even for a demigod with all the expensive items. I'd say that if a team rushes the citadel they might get a fast easy win if there oponents don't do the same.

Anyway it is a bit early to talck about tacktiks for the game functions and balnaces are not yet clearly deffined.

Take out the first step if I'm not a General

Buy Rank 2 Minatours

Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill

Get +1000 mana +mana regen Helmet

Get +1000 mana -16% Ability Cooldown

All Fathers Ring

Ashkandor

Whatever else could be used, probably Stormbringer if I'm a mana user

And now and then I'll upgrade adds, then I'll upgrade armor, then I'll upgrade spawn speed, then damage.

See I have the same thoughts as voodofreak. If you rush Citadel its so easy to secure a victory, because the spawn times are so great if you upgrade a lot just before the spawn you can take down a lot of the other teams base and if they dont quickly upgrade (within the next 3/4 spawns) they can be wiped out.

The game as I know it is not about buying items for yourself, if you buy Citadel upgrade faster than the other team you will very likely win.

Personally, I like pumping the money into the citadel.

First, as TB, I buy the Vinling Helm for mana regen. After that, I dump all income into the upgrades and make sure all neutral portals are capped for my team. My team's upgraded minions wear down the defences and smash the other team's creeps, and their demigods cant be everwhere at once, no matter how powerful they are.

Plus, as TB, I'm still leveling and lobbing fireballs which keep their demigod's hurting regardless of where my money is going.

Well, I play exclusivly Oak, so thats where this is coming from :)

  1. Buy Gauntlets of Brutality, 3 Scrolls of TP and Wand of Speed
  2. Return for Haulberk of Life
  3. Godplate for HP/thorns (The Thorns eats grunts alive)
  4. Rest save for when Catapultz are ready and upgrade to them and HP/Dmg upgrades :)

Well I'm sure after Oak gets a nerf because of his stupid Last Stand he won't be as powerful.

Everyone seems to have the same tactic, buy a few cheap items maybe then rush Citadel upgrades.

There are some items though which are very powerful I think for the cost they currently are. Can't remember names right. What do you guys think?

I play all demigods alike, but I'll show you my new Oak strat. To be fair I was actually impressed by his general power: I never buyed artifacts or expensive items, but I stilll owned and was only killed once. Most of my kills were my minion's. Also din't use Last Stand.

-Buy Monks with starting gold and take penitence.

Monks are very usefull: their walking potions and they can heal allies too; golden.

Penitence is vital in teamplay, better than 3 spirits. Shield can be bought too though.

-Stay behind a melee assasin(Rook or UB) or play with Reg.

-Push, fall back, use monks to heal. Repeat. By this time my enemy mounted a triple push, pushed me and my Rook back.

-Get siege archers if your winning, get mino's if its even or your losing. If you can afford it: a universal gadget is very handy to finish off assasins. One neutral portal was capped so I tried to take it back. A enemy Rook saw me and charged in, I replied by running circles around him penticing him and letting my minions finsih him off. Use shield if needed.

-Push with portal reinforcements and get siege archers to destroy the towers. Get a flag cap and hp armor. I slowly pushed into the enemy base killing towers and killing DG's with help of a friendly Rook.

-When you can push to their portal, do it. Cap it, and use your flag lock to frustrate them even more. By this time the enemy DG's probably found out what your doing, so flee.

-Heal up with monks and push again. Your strong enough to kill an Assasin in the open, don't be afraid to attack. Always remeber to resummon, including in battle. Fall back and wear the assasin out. Take Surge of Faith.

-You now should have enough money to buy some more items: buy lvl 4 mino's and hp armor.

Stay on the outer most lane(on levathian) on the right, where you have the neutral portal capped. Harras enemy forces that are trying to make it to your base. If your winning push some more using siege archers. Assasin will probably try to get you, use shield and penitence and let your minions finish him off. Your lvl 4 Mino's are lethal to a lonely assasin. Be wary of double pushes though: they will stun and nuke you.

-Get more minions and max out in some good items. Contiune.

-You'll probably see that the power of your minions is diminishing: try to use your gold in Citadel upgrades. This will hopefully win you the game, as long as you have the neutral portals capped.
