Developers' Knowledge

It seems like modders are steadily trying to decode the gameinfo issued with the modset, and while we are making progress, it is slow progress.  Some people have been really kind as to clarify and sort different modifiers, constraints, etc.

However, the small collection of tutorials in the documentation seem to only be about very limited topics.

Do the developers have their own written guide as a sort of reference to which does what? is it confidential?  If you do, guys, that would be great if you could put it out here on the forums.  

If not, what is the most current and thorough guide for JUST editing the gameinfo?

Given the quality of the mods, it seems like people have already figured a lot out.  if you guys could share that with the rest of us, that would be most appreciated.

If there is already one of these in existence that I overlooked, I apologize.  Just let me know.

I third this!

And get rid of some bloody hardcodes in the meantime!!! Like more ship slots...Shouldn't be hard..just give us a bigger UI (well the bottom row only)! Even one extra column would allow us to add 6 new ships and 4 new structures!! PLEASE!!! AND MORE THAN 4 abilities per ship! we have 9 slots..let us use them all! :D

  1. More ship types (not unlimited) is a must.  I think the existing UI with a paging system for expansion would be fine.
  2. More than 4 abilites indeed!
  3. Abilities for fighter entities.
  4. More than 2 types of fighter squadron per ship... 4 would work.

That's my main wishlist for modability.

Getting a definitive guide to all the classes, enums, and such would be awesome... or you could just go open source!
