How do I install new ship styles?

Can't find any install instructions

from GalCiv2 Forums

For example, I downloaded the UFP styles. The zip contains several directories nut no install instructions. I can find several places to put them

  1. Under an UFP folder in my Mod folder in the C:\Programs\Stardocc Games\etc.
    but this is not a full mod in itself - I want to have several ship styles available in the same game
  2. Under a common shipstyle folder in  my Mod folder in the C:\Programs\Stardocc Games\etc.
    but then they'd all blend and I would have difficulty removing one of them again
  3. In the game install folder itself, spread out into various places
    probably not a good idea
  4. In Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\...
    as a separate folder or split into various folders

This leaves the question of how to separate mods. If I use 2. or 4. I'll probably install all the ship styles in one big mess.

I wonder why there is no install instruction. It seems that everyone assumes that everyone else knows this. Is it because each shipstyle is considered to be a separate mod? I found How to: Set up a mod in the mod folder. It seems to indicate that you can run one mod (in one mod folder) at a time and that's it. I was under the impression that I could do more than that - i.e. add ship styles "on the side".

Put them in My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor, maintaining folder structure (you'll see there are already folders by the given names there).

Not in that way, but that's really up to way the mod developer set it up as much as anything. It could certainly be made to go in the mods folder, but it'd take some shuffling about of the things.
