Some Questions

Here are my questions, please excuse me if they sound newbish.

 

  1. I have just installed impulse. Do I now have to manually download updates to GalCiv 2 or are they automatic like Stardock?
  2. When I am playing Arnor, am I playing with all the bells and whistles that should be there, I own all the expansions?
  3. On the question of modding. I would like to download the Babylon 5, but will it make the original game go away?
  4. I have seen mods that are graphics 2.0 is this different that the 2.0 patch they are going to release? Is there a beta patch available?
  5. Are there any utilities that would make the gaming session go better?

 

 

I have to say this is one of the best games I have played in along time.

1. Impulse doesn't have an auto-update option for installed products (at present), but if you look on the My Games tab anything that does have an update available is clearly marked with a ( ! ) icon so you can see which ones need updated.

2. Yes, if you have DL/DA/TA installed, and are playing TA, you have all of GC2.

3. Depends on how the mod is designed, if it replaces the base files or uses the mods folder. Really a question for the mod authors.

4. There is a beta version on Impulse for the upcoming TA 2.0 update. Any version numbers of mods are not generally related (in most cases, the mods were first made for DA or earlier, so their 2.0 was for TA's initial release).

Thanks kryo, that helped alot. I think I will wait on the mods until after the upcoming patch.

 

One last question. I was planning on making my own custom content. Are there any pictures/ships available so i can make custom races. The ones that came with the game are good, but I would like to get more to add my own flavor for later.
