LAN Requires only one copy of the game?

I had heard that you only need one copy of SofaSE if you want to play muiltiplayer on a local LAN. Is that true? That would be really cool. I am thinking about buying this game. One of the reasons I would buy it is to play with my son across our LAN. I will be much more likely to buy it if I only have to buy one copy.

Yes, that's true :) One copy of Sins will allow you to LAN with your son. Obviously, online multiplayer does require a unique key (for clarity's sake :P)

Note that if you ever want to paly it with more than 2 people over a LAN, you'll need more than 1 copy. Otherwise, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the input. This is really great! Kudos to the game developers and the publisher. This was a great choice. I am going to go buy it today.

My son and I play SoaSE on our local LAN alot, have a TS2 server setup. He loves to play Coop and crush opponents, remember you can save the game when it's time for the kiddies to hit the sack.

I am curious... me and my friend are trying to lan... but I have 1.05 and he has my copy of 1.00... now.. we copied mine over so it put his at 1.05.. but now we cant even see our games in the lan game panel... wtf? Is it because my key got registered to him?? I would like to lan this with the updates...  Suggestions

Uninstall 1.05 and 1.00 from both computers. Install the latest version from Impulse on both your computers and play away.

I just want to report that I bought this game to play with my brother, and although we don't have a lot of free time to play it, (only played 3 games together and 2 solo so far) it has been working great and easy to set up.

We played once using our cellphones (free family calling), once on my wow guild's vent server (there's a reason I don;t have much time to play sins), and once on his spare PC.

In every case I just needed to install the game through impulse and make sure the firewall was allowing it through.
