Kudos to "20" - first gamer

Is a newb, not a noob!!!

I played a 2v2 game with 20 (first MP game) last night against someone who has a fair bit of expereince and another first gamer (so teams were reasonably balanced). We both went Vassari vs Advent (exp oponent) and Vassari (first gamer oponent).

I wanted to comment on the following:

1) He didn't complain when I queried his skill level (e.g. how much SP experience, if this was first MP game etc...). He (she???) just explained he had played SP, informed me what level AI he could beat and that he had read the forums for strategy etc...

2) He talked to me and took/offered directions/strategy.

3) He didn't panic or quit when he got illum rushed. Nor did he complain when I went to attack the Advent HW while he battled the illums (I did give him a little feed when possible :)) - he just discussed options and what we should both do.

The end result was the experienced guy quit and the other newb quickly followed. The only complaint 20 had was that the game didn't last long enough... :)

So I'd like to thank 20 for playing with me and welcome him(her???) to the MP community...

Maybe we should have a dedicated "thanks for the game" thread.  :)

Ive got tons of people id like to thank for a really fun mp game , but I dont want to clog up the forums.

Maybe - but it was nice to see a newb playing who understood the game a little rarther then going straught to MP, so I thought I would mention it...

A NEWb is new.  A NOOb is someone who makes you want to cry NOO! when he joins your team.

I've always referred to "NEWbs" as "Box Noobs" -- they just pulled the game out of the box and installed it a couple days ago.

I know - Hence why I said "Is a newb, not a noob"...

I figured if I posted this thread, some other newbs could read it, understand what 20 did that made him not be a NOOB as there have been a number of people bitching about team stacking etc... lately. If these people understand how to not be a noob AND how to get better (e.g. read the forums), maybe they won't want to complain as much as they enjoy the game more...
