A Cool thing happened in my game- My trade representive shot and killed the Torian leader! heh

It was a wacky turn of the game event. I was allied with
the torians and altarians...and then a wacko from my
nation shoots and assassinates the Torian leader. Yes,
the leader's name changed after that and everything.
Anyway..all of a sudden they are at war with me.
Changed the entire game around.

Very cool...but since i have hardly won this game and
was about to have an alliance victory..i decided in the
future i would accept this event, but not now..so i reloaded from recent save game and went on to the alliance victory and this murder never happened. hehe.

But i thought it was a cool thing and next time..i'll
accept it.

So i did win and got my first victory on a huge map.

That happened on my first game. Admittedly on cakewalk and tiny. And I thought it was way too easy too, as the drengins were as strong as me, with better military, but not interesed in me at all. Then...... that event happened.

Woke me up, I'll tell you that! Suddenly I was in a war...... A short war (well it was cakewalk), but still I'd though the game was all wrapped up!

Some people have been saying they dislike the events like that one and others. But I really like them, they add challenge and diversity to the game! Or if you pick the luck attribute with the univeralists...... you get lots of good events! I got 4 (yes, 4!) free precursor rangers fairly early on in a game of mine! :d

Doug: Ah ah ah. The save and reload is not allowed. :) I got it my first game too. I was one month away from the cultural victory too (which you will not get if you are at war with a major power) Arrrgh. Dang fool

If you want to prevent the war message you need to do a little espionage on the other races. I got 4 rangers plus fifteen in on of my earlier games but then went bankrupt until i sold them because i had no money to pay for the maint.

Now that I know so much more about the game...I wish I had that Draginol effect like I did in my very first game.

They wiped out everything that flew in my tiny galaxy. I almost want to have it happen again, play out the century needed to research Excalibur tech, and kick their ass!

So long as they don't invade me first.............
