Actually, I think a little more info would be good on that question. Such as a url to go to. 'Impulse' may be meaningful to those in the know, but its basically meaningless for someone new to Stardock. I for one know the name, know its a download mechanism, but wouldnt have a clue where to find it.

So can we buy a vowel and get a tad more info ?

You can get Impulse from www.stardock.com/downloads/ or impulsedriven.com. After installing Impulse, log into your account and you should have access to download it through there, as well as the beta of the up coming patch.

Well, since I got a box copy, I cannot comment, but one would assume from how it was worded that the purchase was online (since the OP wants their copy...) - so would have read the "how to get it" info

Well there you go.

I thought Impulse was a website, and it turns out to be a program. I cant say that thrills me very much. The last thing I need on my computer is yet another program that only gets used once, or once a year.

I think the Stardock PR department needs to do a little work on educating people about this. Even reading talk about the current beta didnt adequately convey how to get it.

The OP obviously has no choice, but I will be reconsidering 1.1 based on its delivery method.

As has been repeatedly pointed out on these forums, going forward Impulse will be the only way to receive additional patches.  It would be a shame to cut yourself out of "the loop" for no other reason than disliking a delivery method.

Impulse is by far the least invasive digital distribution system out there.  I might suggest you "try before you....cry?"  hehe;P

I'm quite certain the e-mail you get with your serial number and the receipt has a section on how to get it, which by now should mention Impulse ;)

As for the patch delivery method: it isn't going to change. You can use Impulse, or you can forego patches.

I'm quite happy with 1.05, so will probably forego further patches. :)
