devlopers incoperating mods

i know this has been disscused a bit in other posts and its not just for sins.

moders do alot of good work to inproveing games so why dont devlopers incoperate mods into the game and make the offical, thats provided there graphical and dont rebalance the game but it would save devs time and make the modders all warm and happy. so what is the reason they dont incoperate other peoples work. just looking for a reson when there is such good work out there.

Because there's also a reason the game is the way it is. Bailknight's and Wild's mods are great, but do you really believe Ironclad's artists are incapable of doing the same? Sins was always meant to be an accessible game that folks on lower end machines can run pretty well, hence why the particles are the way they are - they work and they look good enough, while not being over the top like the mods make it. And, most importantly, they keep performance where the devs want it to be.

Reason 1
Evil
Some developers prefer to leave the game unmodable so they can mod it themselves and get some cash while releasing expansion packs.

Reason 2
Good
Fragmentation of the community. Having too many options to choose from results in having too many groups that each play a different game.

That's pretty much it...
