Cloak and Dagger Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (be wary Canadians)

Your right to privacy may be at risk

For those who don't have Wikileaks blocked by their country's ISP, this is of interest.

For those who do...

Essentially ACTA is a trade agreement that is currently being discussed in secret, it's main motive is to stop piracy, by forcing ISPs to fork over user information of suspected pirates, and if you are entering another country, Canadian border guards will have the legal right to search the contents of your laptop, iPOD, CD, DVD, or any other media storage device in search of pirated material.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has not been commenting on this.

Maybe the reason why Hollywood sales are dropping, is because the movies that they're producing right now SUCK.

Isn't that right Michael Bay?

Megan Fox alone made me like that movie...

Matt Stone and Trey Parker guide all my major life choices, so there's no way I could watch a Michael Bay flick. I'd rather be forced to listen to The End of an Act from Team America for 18 hours straight.

p.s. Wikileaks rocks.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...

That seemed oddly appropriate. But seriously at what point will they give up? You know what the trend was before this...SHOPLIFTING. They couldn't stop that either. Before people burned cd's they just lifted the out of the shops.

Well, yes and no. Hollywood has been producing a lot of crap lately. However, if there are some movies that SHOULD be watched in the theatre, it's movies like Michael Bay's. Yes, I know, most of them are shallow pap, but they're supposed to be. They're not supposed to be deep and moving; you're supposed to go see them at the theatre so you can watch big explosions on the big screen and hear them in glorious theatre surround sound.

I can see people pirating movies like Sex and the City, but why in god's name would you pirate Transformers? It's no wonder people think Michael Bay's films suck when they watch them at a tiny, blocky resolution in cheesy stereo sound on their PC.

New features:

Ability to encrypt a system partition/drive (i.e. a partition/drive where Windows is installed) with pre-boot authentication (anyone who wants to gain access and use the system, read and write files, etc., needs to enter the correct password each time before the system starts). For more information, see the chapter System Encryption in the documentation. (Windows Vista/XP/2003)

EFF also has some nice laptop stickers.

They do when our government is essentially beholden to the US government.

Harper and his cronies need to go. Now.

US privacy laws don't mean as much here in the US as they did before the fearmongers reinvented the Cold War with a new, improved, nebulous, nigh-eternal enemy. This border-crossing stuff is small potatos compared to our first tentative steps twoards establishing a home-grown version of the Stasi. "Total Information Awareness" my left...
