That depends entirely upon the player race, opponent, difficulty, starting position... Can you be a bit more specific?

There is no strategy x which allows you to beat the game every time in the best way. That whats great about this game. Every game plays different and you have to adjust your strategy to the circumstances. Just use your brain and get a feeling of it through experience. If you encounter a problem (more definite than "how to win") you are free to ask here again.

Basically any strategy advise based on trying to be all encompassing would be so general as to not have any meaning for you.

We could all tell you: Colonize as much as you can, have a strong economy, don't get into wars until you are ready and have the best military. I doubt this will help you.

There are threads with advice on strategies for any race and opponents but these are ONLY at the start of the game. That is, someone may ask "How do you handle the colony rush?" or "what do you put on your home world?" etc.

If you would like advice, your question needs to be a bit more specific. As the others have stated the circumstances in the game will affect your strategy. And there are no answers that will guide you through the entire game.
