I tried doing that but the game crashes when ever I enable the mod. Do you have to copy all the referance files over or just the one edited? And do they need to be converted to binary?
For any of the expansions you just need the files you're changing. Make sure you set the base level to 9, and you were using the correct reference files for the version of the game you have. You do not need to convert them back to binary.
You may not want to change the base level to 9 though as actually researching it could potentially crash the game because you would be able to train capitals 10 times, which would stick them at level 11. Idk what would happen.
