Tech for worlds

I just won a game by trading all of my tech and a few crumy ships for all of the worlds the Korth Clan had.  Should this happen?  Seems a little odd that they would trade themselves to death.

Interesting. I've NEVER seen an AI trade away its last 3 or so worlds, on Tough difficulty. What version of the game did this happen in?

Trading tech for worlds is something I've (ab)used a lot in early DA huge games though.

I was just playing DA 1.8 with Terrans on a gigantic map, and was the first to research the plague cure. I was getting +1000 BC per turn for a long time, and ended up buying about 14 worlds from my Torian allies for the grand sum of 8000 BC and the plague cure. I'm playing on challenging, too.

I mean, WTF? The Torians went right from #2 to second to last, pretty much deciding the game right there.
