1.04 Anyone has any luck with loading a map from the custom galaxy folder?

Without instadefeat?

Does anyone has any luck with loading a map from the custom galaxy folder (the one under user/stuff, not the one in the game itself) without the game going insta-defeat?

I just tried to place some maps into the galaxy folder for testing purposes and it didn't worked. (The maps are fine btw. they work in the normal sins galaxy folder in the game folder itself.)

why not just use the normal folder then? (i personally haven't tried this, but to me it would seem just as well to use the normal folder?) i think the custom folder is for maps made in game anyhow.

The users/galaxy folder is only for maps made with the in-game mapmaker. Galaxy Forge maps *must* go under the game's folder. The two types of maps are different and the game treats them differently based on which folder they're in.

I can't see any of my custom maps if I put them in the regular SINS/galaxy folder with 1.04

Are the maps created with the 1.03 galaxy forge compatible with SINS 1.04?

I've never seen them in game with any version of the game.
This is my file path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy"
What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like both of you are using the pre-1.03 Galaxy Forge/maps. Open up your map files in Notepad, and make sure versionNumber is 1. Also if you're making maps, re-download the GF that's in the Downloads section, it was updated so that it makes maps that are properly recognized by 1.03 and beyond.
