i dont believe so. Only possible to have a new skybox for each solar system

I'm currently trying to put X3 textures (planets, etc) into Sins. The celestial objects (particularly the asteroids) looks far better in X3.

Still trying to figure out how to get them to work.

i was thinkin of instead of a planet as center that could be a place holder to build
starbases instead but with X3 backdrops for each gravity well but seems not possible
as Multianna sais oh well..

Yeah, there are only a few backdrops in Sins, that I saw. As opposed to almost 30 in X3.

I did replace the star map though, it definitely looks better. It was part of an X3 mod.

Well, X3 has a different structure. There each sector is completely separate from each other, they're not grouped with any star or anything, so it works there. In Sins, a planet is just a planet around a star, in the same solar system, so in Sins it wouldn't make sense to have a unique backdrop for each planet. Rather, there are unique backdrops per star, which works :P

Yep.

I'm trying to get my head around re-texturing the asteroids with X3s textures. I just think they're far better to look at...

I had a hunch this would happen, I buy the game and spend more time modding it than playing it. :)

Teehee :P I played it for half a year in beta :) I still play it (albeit mostly SP with work and all), but I'm enjoying modding it :) It's really the first game I've seriously modded in for eternity, and I'm having fun :P
