To the Devs: On creating a Unique game experience.

For starters this in not a rant but these are suggestions. :D

From an RTS stand point I am sure you have had your fill of feedback. My stand point. the Unique abilities of units needs to have more impact to stop the SPAM stradegy that appears to be the sure win at this point.

MY 4X and RTS suggestions.

After playing many games there is little to look forward to in the next game. AKA rush resources and spam units.

the whole bidding thing with pirates is interesting but I think the concept could be taken a step forward.

Other bidding Ideas

1) Capital ship captains (mercinaries). These individuals would boost capital ships stats etc...etc

2) Bid on unique tech..the sky is the limit.

3) Fleet ship captains. Right now the fleets are very impersonal. Adding a fleet captian that would impact stats via abilites with in "range" would make things more interesting.

4) Unique units.

5) unique infrastructure units.

etc. etc.

There are other ideas one could be placed in this list.

THe bottom line would be place random bidding offers in the game that would TIP THE SCALE in the face of SPAMMING units and provide a UNIQUE GAME experience EVERY TIME.

Gamers often look for larger scale games because they are "cool". I believe what they are looking for is a unique experience...."if its larger it will be different".  I disagree to a point.

The Philosophy behind the bidding of unique ideas as posted above is as follows:

Expansion packs usually follow the same trend.

Different units for each race.

Different techs.

More maps. etc

Once a gamer as utilized and mastered or tried out the "new toys" they tend to get "bored"

While these things are great and well. It is important to always ask the same question to the gamer: Can you beat your opponent with this scenario? Have you tried this?

Human nature is reflected by this philosophy and is part of the reason why ebay and the shopping channel are such a success. Individuals are looking for unique things AND want items at Unique price.

Merely offering ALL things at once in a static environment where everybody know what "gun" the other opponent has does not create longevity to a game.

I hate bringing the game World of Warcraft into this discussion but I think love it or hate it their Devs brought this concept to the for front in an RPG and executed it with style. Of course this concept is executed with kill drops and auction houses but the philosophy remains.

Rants are annoying, but suggestions are always welcome. :)  I like these ideas and we'll certainly consider them for the future.
