Metaverse Scoring Question

Whatever Frogboy did to the scoreing...it was pretty huge. My question is does anyone know exactly what was done.

My last game was played on a large map with painful difficulty. I won by military victory and scored over 3000 points.

This game was played on a large map with Crippling difficult (everybody Genius). I won even faster by military victory (in the first game I had to slog all the way through a fleet of Overlords to win. This time I had only just hit Avatars). But scored only 600 points.

Now I could understand if the points were marginally lower...but the points are 1/5 as much for a quicker victory on a higher difficulty?

Can anyone explain what this was about?

Just a bump.
Not a complaint, and I realise that at some point all of the scores will be run through the new algorithm (which will probably help me out actually given the large number of scores I can't hope to match)

But it would be interesting to know what factors count positively and what count negatively. I wasn't jonesing for a high score in my last game, just wanted to get a military victory since I hadn't got one yet. I'd be interested in knowing what behaviors from that game resulted in a high score that no longer do. Conversely in this game I was hoping for an Alliance win, but I just couldn't get the Arceans to like me for more than a couple of turns so I wound up pounding them into oblivion.

I'm not sure, but population doesn't count as much as it used to, and you're also penalized for long games (double whammy, really). When they recalc the metaverse, I'm almost certain to loose the medal for "10 wins, score over 3000 points."

I know the feeling about the Arceans. In my current game, they've got an alliance with the Altarians and Torians, but insist on picking wars with me, so Saintly "Yeuben Hadd" (no, I don't claim it's original) winds up fighting the Altarians, Torians, and Arceans, but is on good terms with the Drengin and Yor. This isn't the first time it happened either, and the last time it did was my first military conquest victory. Who knows, maybe after I sack the Arceans, the Altarians and Torians, who's hearts aren't into the war, will be at least willing to go after the Drengin and Yor with me.

As a result of the changes to the MetaVerse scoring, my last game was also worth only about 1/5th as much. I am almost glad the MetaVerse is currently down. It is really, really unsatisfying to play a better game and achieve a score that is so much smaller. I imagine I'll wait until they go back and re-score all my games before playing again.

Of course, I'm only saying that because I shouldn't have been playing the game during the week anyways. By the time the weekend rolls around, my "addiction" will have returned. :)
