SDC is truly awful adn their support never right back

I used to have no problem with it but now it refuses to recognize my email/serial number for updates. When I ask I ask it to LOOK IT UP it sends me the correct info to my allegly wrong email. And then after 5 business days, no assistance. So, my copy of GAL CIV is permanently history.

Any suggestions how to get their attention?

Have you recently upgraded to Drengin.net? I read somewhere that some people had problems after (I may be wrong).
Have you tried writing to one of the emails that Frogboy gave in various threads? Maybe he can help.
Since yesterday you are the second person I see complaining about reply delays from stardock. Maybe they are in a rush right now.
Maybe you can try the chat room in SDC, from time to time frogboy is there. I'm sure he would at least try to help you.
I know all this is pretty obvious but who knows, sometimes I miss to see things right in front if me. Anyway, that's the best I can do. :notsure:
Maybe if you give more detailed information abiout what happenned some of the computer-literate people here (I'm not one of them ;) ) can probably help you.

Captain Chaos,
there are thousands of Galciv users, it's not too surprising that Stardock are not always prompt in their reply. SDC has had a number of issues in it's development. It is only 2-3 months old! Have some patience (no 5 business days is NOT patient). You can still play Galciv, you can still apply the stand alone patches. There's no need for you to use SDC unless you want the most up to date upgrades.
as for your problem, there are a number of possibilities. I assume you have read the support docs for the SDC and you are not getting a login error. A login error has nothing to do with serial numbers but just with your Stardock.net account. Many people mix these up. If it's not a login error then it's fairly strange. Maybe someone entered them already for another email address and Stardock are busy trying to find out if your account number has been stolen. Post some more details of exactly how it fails and perhaps others can help.

Do you see Galciv under the software? What error do you get? How does it not recognise you details? When you enter then under register product?

Paul.

Bobo not believe you contact Frogboy and he not talk back. Bob also say, it sad not get SDC to work. It more sad not play game becasue if it. Game more important than SDC. Write Frogboy. Him help.

Drop a note to amarshall@stardock.com. Tell her I sent you.

BTW, just one minor thing - Stardock doesn't officially do support for GalCiv. Strategy First does. The support we're providing is above and beyond the support Strategy First provides.

I've noted that if you post your version os and system specks as well as your problem, most problems get worked out right here. And if support is bad here, there is no such thing as good support.

Bobo thank Nastavnik. But Bobo not bad. Him not make sins. So Bobo not pay tax on sins. Bobo confused. That ok. Bobo say him smart. Not say him more smart than all others.

Thank you all for your advice (and esp. to Frogboy! - I will try that).

I have rarely been so impressed with an on-line community - both contributing players and designers. Although, there are still some aspects of this game that befuddle and frustrate me, I constantly praise the developer's commitment to constantly fix/update what I am sure will become masterpiece.

Thanks you all for your assistance (hopefully SDC will fix this problem so I can get back to playing updates!)
