Need recommendations for similar games

I have been searching everywhere for a really good presidential/dictator game that really immerses you into policy and foreign-relations issues. The closest thing I can think of to what I'm looking for is the original Tropico, but even that focused more on construction. I love election sims, but I want to sim what happens next! Any suggestions?

You're looking for the Big Time Sim? I'd suggest looking into Superpower2 by GolemLabs/Dreamcatcher. It''ll be out around the middle of October. You can play any one of 202 Countries in the world and take control of that Country's Social, Economic, Military and Diplomatic quanties. You can even engage in combat, design your own combat vehicles, and get involved in Modern day current Issues/wars.
