Slow Terror Stars

With all the speed improvements, why are they so slow?

Also for being a "star killer" why are they so easy for the darn enemy to shoot down?? The death star in "star wars" was bristling with defensive weapons.

I guess that if I was going to build one I could just send a fleet of constructors which move faster to build one close to the enemy..

I also notice sometimes that ships on "auto pilot" don't move! (maybe it's just me)

Not just you about the Auto Pilot thing. I thought some of my ships weren't moving, but I had other things going on in the galaxy, so I left it alone. Later, I checked, and the darn things were still in same sector. I had to click them and reset the auto pilot to get them to move!

Haven't built a Terror Star, but shouldn't it have a high defense score? If it doesn't naturally have one, do you build defense modules?

Actually, some people have used the move-constructors-to-doomed-planet-then-build-terror-star stategy before. :CONGRAT:

Ok... wasn't too sure if after the thing was built that you could still add more defense mods to it, wonder if adding the "speed" mods might make it faster?

Since adding a bunch of constructors together might take a while...

Terror stars will only ever move at one I believe. To stop you wiping too many systems out in one turn I guess.

Best thing to do is make a big fleet of constructors off too where you want the terror star.

Terror stars are just starbases really - so they have the same defence value as them.

Yep, you can add any modules to it you want, including defense. A stratagy a lot of people use is to build a ton of influence modules on their terror stars, and "culture bomb" enemy worlds into rebeling.

I'm afraid it's stuck at a speed of 1 though. It would be really unbalancing to the game to have them zipping all around. ;)
