I made some new candidates for the game that are pretty interesting. If I can figure out how to upload them, I'll post them here. But until then, if anyone wants them just let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

Do you have pictures and such???
You don't know to upload them??? Easy. Look into your data folder for 'Political Machine'. It should list as the following (unless you made changes during the installation): C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/Stardock/PolMachine/Data. Then, look at the data notes (such as corecandidate) and see how the candidates were constructed. In a text file (Notepad), write down data similar to how you want it. If you want a picture, you have to get a picture that is 125x125 in PNG format and then add it to this:
C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/Stardock/PolMachine/GX6/Candidate_Pics (or something similar to that)
You just have to look, and spot...It becomes pretty easy if you look at it a few times. If you need anymore help, call on me....or someone else.

I think its simplistic to think that because Hoover was not an effective President, that he would be such a horrible candidate as drawn. His religious appeal would be much higher as he was probably behind Carter the most religious President of the century. To give him zero competence overlooks that before he was elected he was entrusted to practically run the government for Harding and Coolidge, was chosen to feed Europe after both world wars, was in charge of disaster relief during the great Mississippi River floods of '27. He was simply wrong in believing that the market would take itself out of the depression. For those who believe him to be our worst President ever, you're wrong. His actions before and after his presidency should push him above do nothing Presidents that did nothing during or after their terms.

The candidates go in Data, but if you can't copy them in, try going into the game, setting them up (name, picture and party), then quitting and going into Stardock/Polmachine/Data and finding them and editing the data to the stats I posted here.

Another point about Hoover, in 1928 he beat Al Smith with at the time, the largest popular and electoral mandate in history. He can't be that bad a candidate. Anyone who would have presided over the stock market crash would have been voted out in the next election. While he was born in Iowa, he was a resident of California at the time of his election, calling Stanford home. BTW, he is my fifth cousin, being the 2nd cousin of my great grandmother.
