Creating issues

I was wondering how you create new issues for the political machine?

I was taking on Jimmy Carter with Ronald Reagan and trying to mold it into the 1980 Presidential campaign. However the issues were all wrong. For one thing- terrorism, war in Iraq, and other things like that weren't very high on the American public's list of concerns then.

I'm looking to add these issues to the game to more accurately represent the 1980s-

Nuclear arms reduction treatys
Star Wars (the missile defense system)
Soviet expansion in Afghanistan
Arms race/arms build up
Iranian hostage crisis
Libyan terrorism
Space Shuttle program
Soviet appeasement
Berlin Wall
Grenada/Cuba crisis
Panama intervention
Iran-Contra
Iran-Iraq war

On top of that I want to eliminate the war in Iraq issue. Because there was no war between the U.S. and Iraq in the 1980s. So how would I go about doing all this?

While we weren't at war in Iraq in 1980, the Iraq-Iran war had started and with our problems with Iran at the time it was a news issue. Granted it wasn't nearly as big of an issue as it is today but war in Iraq is a viable issue for the time.

You need to have purchased the $30 version of the game from Stardock directly so you have the political operatives pack.

The political operatives pack gives you the issue editor. It allows you to create whatever issues you want.
