More multiplayer, New Bugs (WITH SCREENSHOTS)

I won another MP game and it was a closer one. Thank god it wasn't close for this bug to take away sweet victory.

Get this, I won pennsylvania (21 electoral votes) by a margin of 54-45, but on election night it turned BLUE and my opponent got its votes! After I looked at the map after I was informed of eventual victory, I clicked it and it was red again with me up 54-45. Yet my opponent got those votes on election night! What gives?! This also happend in West Virginia (53-46 margin there, worth 5 electoral votes.

I won 288-250, though it should have been 314-224 (which is what the Zagby poll correctly indicated the week or two prior to election day as I solidified my states).

I also got more of the bug where I was not able to build ads after a certain point in the game (since this game was closer I thank god it didnt happen till a few weeks were left). I also could not delete any ads I have created from states I no longer wanted to advertise in. I also noticed it took me a few clicks (and airplane noises) to sometimes leave a state and go to another one.

I kept the game on longer to examine state-by-state details and week 45's newspaper came up with no events. You guys should really stop counting them weeks after election day. I think this bug only happens in MP and not SP because there is a timer, so eventually 5 turns went by and the newspaper went up where as in SP there is no time limit (and since you can't click turn) it never happens.

As I sit here right now in fact, I have 1.7 million in the bank (left the game on after victory) and nearly 2 billion votes in the popular vote count. If you want to see a screenshot of this let me know and I will send you one.

So far those are all the bugs I have noticed. I hope these get fixed fast. The thing about the game going on after its over is not so annoying since most people don't stick around anyway like I do, but counting the electoral votes of a state the wrong way despite a 9 point margin of victory is something that can potentially cost someone the game. If this had happened in a few more swing states (which I came out on top by at least 6-10 points) then I could've potentially lost the game despite winning it. I think that bug needs to be fixed as a highest priority.

Also the next crippling bugs are the ones where my president won't move or I have to do a few clicks to move, as that is annoying and in some cases can cause me to lose out on "?" dealies, along with the bug that prevents me from building new ads and HQ's. So far out of the 3 games i've played in MP this has happened in two of them, so it needs to be looked into. Not being able to buy stuff, especially if it kicks in early as with one of my games can be potentially very damaging.

Well thanks for your time guys and I hope you fix these bugs asap!

See, this is an example of the bug regarding calling the state for the wrong candidate. It is blue, giving it to my dem opponent, and it showed me up!

This is the next game it happened with, and California IS A BIG DEAL AT 55 VOTES. This makes me SO mad! I still won tho, 297-241, thank god I didn't pin my hopes on California!

While this may be a bug, I do think it should be possible to lose a state even with a slightly higher approval. This is where we need a break down of turn out though. In Cali there are a lot more dems than republicans so even with a higher approval it could be that some of your dem supporters would rather not vote than vote republicans. If it is a bug I hope they fix it but I also hope they stabalize it and make turn out a much larger, and trackable, factor in the game.

Well that is the post-election map. This is AFTER the votes have been tallied. I am up 52-47, that is beyond the +/-3 point margin of error that the manual speaks of. When you are up or down by 3 points it is a tossup and can go either way, but it shouldnt be for a 5 point lead, and when I lost pennsylvania in the game above this one that I posted I was up 54-45, which is 9 points.

Me and my friend whom I played against online have determined that this could be an inconsistency with player data, because in both cases, Penn and Cali, it appeared that I was winning by 9 and 5 points (respectivley) and on his screen it was much more of a tossup. If I was or he was winning within the margin of error on his screen, but on my screen it was a bigger lead for me, this could've resulted (since he's the host) for them to be tallied into his column on my screen as well at election day.

But this is something that needs to be checked out cause this will make A LOT of angry players if it swings elections.

Again, not claiming this isn't a bug but, this is within the error margin. Move you down 3 and you opponent up 3 and you lose 50-49.

While that doesn't explain the problem you had in PA, it could account for your loss here.

That could be the case, though I thought the final tallies are already after the margin of error is included. On the week prior to election week I was up in California 50-43. It also still doesn't explain as you said Pennsylvania, which showed me up 54-45.

That's what I thought too but who knows. Perhaps its because the game doesn't seem to actually end. I haven't played multiplayer and have never lost a state this way. Not real helpful and I? But I responded because I do think turnout should play a bigger role. I think awareness is too broad and that you should have to work on getting out the vote. I kinda like the result of your bug if not the randomness of it.

I'm having the same bugs, Ggibas. I also find it difficult to nigh on impossible to get a multiplayer Fantasy Mode game going. I have a home LAN and can see that the two computers have different stats. E.g. California on one computer has awareness of 35 for each of us, while on the other computer it might have 5. Also, money is screwed up!

I'd also like to have to NOT type the IP address for my Home LAN, everytime I want to play a MP game. You should have a LAN search function.

Aha, so there does seem to be inconsistency between data. They should work to make sure that all stats and money are the same on BOTH computers because if I am winning a state 55-45 I will go to a closer state on my screen, then if it turns out I lose that state because on my opponent's screen I was losing it and I lose the game I will be VERY UPSET!

This should be fixed in the 1.01 patch
