Two Bugs

1. In my recent campaign game against Gephardt, a bug occurred for a period that caused advertisements to not spawn correctly. They would spawn in the wrong state, and sometimes of the wrong type and for the wrong party. Its hard to explain, but when I attempted to create TV ads in New York, it was creating Democratic newspaper ads in Mass. or even a Republican radio ad in Wisconsin. I reloaded the game several times, but the bug occured for a while in each re-started game, only to stop at a certain point. I couldn't figure out any pattern so I aborted the game. I haven't seen the problem since.

2. The money man appears to do nothing. He certainly doesn't double fundraising in a state. Perhaps his effect is more subtle, but I noticed no difference between fundraising in state X without a moneyman, then reloading the game and dropping my moneyman in that state and fundraising. Does he only effect HQ donations?

On #2- I've noticed he seems to have no effect too... in fact maybe the WRONG effect....

I didn't notice- is he meant to only affect the normal HQ donations, not the ones where you fund raise? I might have misunderstood him.

On #2:
It does matter if you have fundraised in the state before. The money man effects the Potential in the state. So for instance if you don't have much awareness in the state you are not going to see much of an increase. Same as if you have already "tapped" the state. So if you have been fundraising there before, then your potential is still pretty low. So even with the money man you are not going to see much of an increase.

Just as a note, he should have nothing to do with how much money the headquarters brings in.

I understood that.

I'm really not sure that the moneyman gives any kind of increase at all. He certainly doesn't double the potential.

The money man does give an increase to fundraising potential, but you are correct, it is not double the amount. It was changed for balance reasons.
