no one is online on political machine?

I tried to play a multiplayer and no one is online. Can we not play against others online yet? I can't believe not one other soul in online on the game right now. Anyone know how multiplayer works?

Make sure you check out the readme and open up the appropriate ports in your router.  Also bear in mind that only a handful of people have the game already. This weekend should be the first test.

I have seen 1 person on since I got the game and I chatted with her, does that mean it works, just hardly anyone has the game yet?

frogboy, I've got one more question, can you save a game you're having with another player online, and pick the game back up from day to day, and have a drag out campaign?

Justin,

I really think just nobody is going online yet. Not everybody could download the game and those that could are probably trying to learn it single player first (that is what I'm doing). I went online for just a few minutes yesterday and then left (there was nobody there at that time either). Wasn't really planning on playing an online game, just thought I'd take a look at the online interface.

I don't know about saving online games, but from playing a few campaigns I think average multiplayer game time for a full campaign should be about an hour or less. So finishing a full campaign shouldn't be too much of a problem. I think the game length is just right.

Thanks tyveil, if frogboy or someone can still verify about saving multiplayer that would be great. I know it's probably unnessary suspense to draw out a campaign with someone to november, but I thought it would be fun.

Multiplayer save is currently disabled. However, if one of the players leave, the remaining player has the option to continue the game playing against the AI.

Carielf, does currently disabled mean it's only temporary, and they'll be a save option soon for multiplayer? Or is it just too hard to do and something that can't be done.

There's been talk on getting that feature in for an upcoming patch, perhaps even for 1.02. SO yes, it's definatly do-able, but will take a bit of work to get in.

I'd be happy with not having to hit refresh to see who's on!
