EB Canada says April 7. WHAT!?

EB Canada says April 7. WHAT!?

Last week, their computer said the 27th, this Thursday. As of tonight, the date was pushed out two weeks! I find this very hard to believe, given that their main web site in the U.S. shows it shipping, and the fact that Strategy First is based in Montréal. If anything, Canadian stores should get it sooner, rather than later, since the usual Customs B.S. is bypassed.

Did I read somewhere that Future Shop will also carry it here? If EB screws up here, I'm not planning to wait until they get their act together...

I live in Winnipeg and they said the 7th too so I said F*** it and purchased it online a couple extra bucks more but at least I get it now and it helps support Stardock a bit more with the extra cash hopefully.

Bashar29: You might know me from the internet, I have several web sites. I do programming and have a couple products released. (OpenVision, Project Nebula, CodeX and a couple more...)

BTW: I am from Montreal.

I hope EB gets it here in Montreal tomorrow else I will buy it online too. It will be 62.99$ CAD in local stores here. Hope it'll come tomorrow or the 27th at the latest.

Future Shop is supposed to have it on Thursday, from what I got from calling around. :notsure:

:sniff!: EB in Ottawa was saying April 6 last night - I got nothing but blank stares when I asked why the rest of North America was apparently getting the game a week and 1/2 earlier.

Hopefully it will show up earlier than that.

Bashar29: That's me! :)

EB will only receive it on the 6th here in Montreal. I just called three of them.

Anyone have any further information from the distributor or EB as to why at least certain parts of Canada (Montreal, Ottawa and Winnipeg) are being left out of the initial distribution of the game?

I E-mailed EB yesterday...and as of today I have not heard any reply....Strategy First AFAIK did not recieve any Order from EB Canada...till today.
Why this delay from EB Canada I don't know. (:(

Well, I ordered my copy from the ebgames.com website yesterday. It has shipped and will probably be in my hands tomorrow (Thursday). I'm in Toronto.

My EB store in Metrotown Mall - Vancouver says they're not expecting any copies until April 6th/7th. Sigh.

Got my retail boxed copy FedEx'd from the U.S. today; updates are applied and I'm ready to go!

("... and we never saw him again!")

This is completely ridiculous - I can't find a copy for love or money in Ottawa - anywhere - EB, Compucentre, Future Shop etc. Has anyone gotten any reasonable explanation as to why Canada has apparently been shafted on the distribution? Is it a deliberate choice by the retail outlets or merely negligent incompetence?

This is probably related to the war. ;) US hates Canada now, so we have to pay for that! (:(

Hmmm....perhaps we could retaliate by cutting off exports of maple syrup.

LOL Even better - we flood the American market with poutine - then when they all collapse from heart attacks - we slip across the border and grab a supply of the game.

Cultural translation note for our American friends: Poutine is a food native to the province of Quebec that involves french fries, cheese curds and a ton of gravy.
