Alliances

You have to wait until they really like you, the realtaionship has to be close or brotherly. At least it has to be more than friendly.

Thanks a lot Wargear. It's funny, I posted this message about 10 minutes ago at about 1:00AM here, and I already got a reply no more than 20 minutes after. Just goes to show how popular this Forum is.

The other race also has to have the alliance tech. Its a tough thing to do.

I'm don't think the other race doesn't have to have the alliance tech (I just played a game where I allied with the Torians, and I don't think they ever got the Alliance tech) -- you need it, and your relationship must be Close. The best way to get to Close is to be of a similar alignment and to trade like crazy with them.

By the way, be careful who you ally with -- if they've been aggressive up to this point, allying with them is just gonna draw you into all their wars. I learnt this the hard way when I allied with the Altarians -- they promptly dragged me into a war with another of my Close races and destroyed my relationship with them.

I made the Altarians pay for that one...

I make them all pay. I'm like my ex-wife when I play this game.

Hehehe, thanks for the info guys. I just managed to ally with the Drengin, as hard as that is to believe. I'm set to go now!
