Dissappearing Transports?

Hey guys, I don't know if you noticed, but if I take a full combat transport of 5Billion to successfully invade a world, even if I only suffered 200mil casualty, the whole transport is gone afterwards. What happened to the remaining 4.8Bil troops?

They make up the population of the world :) You killed the entire population..so your little army guys get to colise the world :)

Not really. If that was the case, my newly invaded world should be at 4.8 Billion, but I usually only see 500-1000 mil in terms of population depending on the planet quality.

Maybe there are multiple planets in the system? If there's more than one inhabited planet, your troops get split equally amongst them.
