Now that's my kind of budget! - Bug Assistance Please

Hello,

I have a couple of goofy issues going on that I hope someone is willing and able to help me with.

1) The sound on that movie scene wherein my frieghter is attacked doesn't work. I thought I've seen this issue before on the forums but I can't find it. However, I did find some references to a www.Stardock.com/files/ms_mp3codec.exe. Does this resolve the problem or is there something else I should do?

2) On my current Altarian Prophecy game (2nd mission), the money supply is working in reverse. When I make money in a turn, it gets deducted from my account and vice versa. The final result, of course, is to spend! spend! SPEND!! :D

Any help is appreciated. :)

You misunderstood ... I said "goofy issues", not "problem". Since when is free-for-all spending a problem??? ;) LOL

Installing Windows Media Player (any version since 6.0) should fix issue 1 as well, AFACT.

The most likley cause of the problem is that something overrode (or overwrote) Microsoft's MP3 codec with another that is not compatible.

The referenced file is a copy of the codec installer, but every version of WMP also ships with most of Microsoft's audio and video codecs.

For the first one, no, two versions of the movie went out with the game and only one of them has sound.  Rename mini_FreighterBlownOut.bik to something else, then rename mini_FreighterBlown.bik to mini_FreighterBlownOut.bik and you'll have the sound.

For the second, I would need a screenshot of your Domestic Ecomony screen to tell you what was going on.
