Will the game run on my computer?

I think it might; there have been people here who have run it with less..

I have a 450mhz K6+ with 160mb RAM and 4mb video card (its a laptop) and I can run up to the large map with no problem. Sometimes it gets a bit slow, but nothing outrageous. It usually happens when there's a ton of ships that need to move. I haven't even bothered trying the gigantic map, but I haven't considered that to be taking away from my enjoyment of the game.

I've run it on a p500 with 128 ram...works fine but only up to medium galaxy. The animations of the other civs in the dipolomacy section is a bit choppy, but overall, the game is playable. On my athelon 2000, its just supurbe. Unfortunately, its ME that sucks.

I think the story was that the minimum tested sucessfully was a PII 300 as long as not playing on HUGE galaxy.

My Problem is not in the computer case but the monitor: does not say anywhere on the game box that 1024x768 is required. My old dependable monitor only does 800x600. Some games like Cossacks only opening menus require 1024--rest of game plays at lower res. Here, whole game is menus. No go. Borrowed a laptop temporarily but does not solve it.
