Spending slider

Hi,
I don't fully understand the role of the sprending slider on the economic screen. The description in the manual is a bit foggy. What does the percentage I adjust really mean? What percentage of what is spent on what? What is the connection to the ratio sliders?

The spending slider controls the amount of your income that you spend on social/military/research projects. The three sliders below control the ratio of money from the spending slider to spend on each individual area.

For example : the spending slider is set to give 100 G.C.

military = 30% (30 GC)
social = 60% (60 GC)
research = 10% (10 GC)

So, if you just want to spend more on military without spending more overall -- adjust the military slider up. If you want to add more research without loosing your social and military spending, increase your spending slider and then increase the research slider to send more of that money to research.
