Aloha!

The official name of the project is Sins of Alethia. This name was chosen because Alethia, daughter of Zeus is the Greek goddess of truth. Both the Cylons and humans believe they are on the side of truth in their respective intrepid struggles. Consequently we felt strongly a failure to acknowledge this point as the central element of cause would be a disservice to the community and franchise proper.

This project is really a love letter to all fans of Battlestar Galactica. As a community we firmly believe the show is fantastic, and there's no reason why this stunning vision of an alternate Sci-Fi reality should not, and can not be brought to Sins. We are hoping to achieve not only an accurate representation of classical and contemporary BSG lore, but to also pay tribute fans by firmly grounding the project in the extensive BSG fan-fiction lovingly crafted by its followers and incorporate our own in to the mix.

Since its debut in 1978 to its 2003 re-imagining, its true to say that individual details regarding the universe are somewhat sketchy at best. With that in mind its our aspiration to fill in these gaps, as necessary, to create the strongest and most enjoyable gaming experience possible with this project for both the Sins and by extension the general BSG communities.



Currently we dont have a formal production time-line planed out; nor do we plan on developing one for the project. Everyone has their own ideas for how BSG could work in Sins, and there are some pretty firm thoughts on what should work and what would work. However there is also much to learn about the modding tools once we get them all as well as what limits we will have to work under within the engine. So it seemed impractical to try establish artificial limits with such unknown variables. We'll certainly let you all know about events and happenings as they arise.

Needless to say, expect the Cylon forces and Human Colonials to clash in an epic conflict of both ideals and survival!



Any and all help offered would be greatly appreciated. Concept artists, modelers and texturers along with anyone who feels they can give some good, solid, constructive input into the project are more than welcome to discuss, participate and bring your ideas to the table.

@Innociv - We both have the same passion. Unfortunately I must spend inordinate hours everyday running my business which sadly enough is not in the gaming industry.

@TheSpaceHamster - you are more then welcome to get involved and join the project. I really suck at art and have zero skills with 3d stuff but that does not stop me from trying to do stuff. I do what I can and hope others can pickup the areas where I'm deficient or simply none existent. Teamwork it is a good thing! :LOL:

I'm pretty sure they're going to find earth in Season4 considering the new series is a (albeit very loose) rewrite of the old one.

Pegasus dying.. yada yada.. all the major plot points are from the original, they have just happened much differently.

I wouldnt say ALL the major plot points are from the original. The political story arcs, President Rosalyn, Baltar running for Pres, Tom Zerik, etc. especially are brand new, at least from my fuzzy memory.

Plus the original Adama kicked nowhere near as much ass as Edward James Olmos does...

If you guys need someone to bounce ideas off of, or to try to come up with story arc ideas im game, part time writer and film student here, but beyond that I dont really think I can do much.

Hell as it stands now I rename all my ships after Battlestars and Planets after the 12 Colonies. New models would be all I needed to be happy :)

Just make sure you put Lucifer from the original TV show in as one of the picture options :) Love that little lavender bastard.

Well my prediction is that they will ind earth but before that happens lots of people will die. I also think I can answer the big question as to who the last cylon is. I think it is Anastasia Dualla based on what I have seen in the series.

I must say I was caught of guard when the Galen Tyrol and the Saul Tigh were outed. Speaking of which that makes me wonder about the Chiefs baby and the fact the XO lost his eye as if the other "skin job" did not know he was cylon. Of course one could rationalize he [skin job] did not want to blow his cover. Anyway I expect big things this season.

Anyway, with regards to the project, we are making some progress. We have spent the past week getting organized, doing our homework and considering team members.

I would love to be able to make a capital ship Galactica or Pegasus. I would make them myself but i have no idea how to use that softimage or what ever it is to make ships. So if yall are gonna make some cool looking BSG stuff i am all for that.

For the record, they never found earth in the original BSG. They "found" it in the crappy version BSG:1980 which had none of the original actors save Lorne Greene. Benedict was already going on to A-team, etc. Pegasus never died in the first show either, it went on a joint mission and did not come back, but it was left open for a return in season 2.

Now, get me some viper mark 2 models damnit!

Spartan is working on a template for our models, that are ready so far. The only thing i can say, Slash makes a wonderful job with those ships... Man... they beautiful!

Things are progressing well. We are working on testing different spins on the game mechanics at the moment as well as developing the models. If all works out well, we will be able to keep the game play close to the series story wise for Colonial side. I will have an image template done soon and then we will post some images of the ships that Slash has been working on.

We should be posting some model images soon. We got a new artist on the team so we tossed out my attempts at art and had him start working on stuff. Additionally due to some medical issues the past couple weeks coupled with not having my workstation back from the shop yet I have not been very active. Progress has been made nonetheless however.

For Cap ships.. is a continuous stream of Auto cannon possible?
Skill.. ferite rounds i think it was the ones they use to try and take out the basestars... haven't watched for a while got into Stargate.. anyway back on track here.

i think we could incorparate the old 3 manned fighters into it? u no the ones from the original.. (AS seen in 'Razor')

I know this would probably require some major coding skills, but what you could do is have it so that the colonial faction is not planet based at all, they just capture extractors. When a player starts a game on a "campaign" map, they would star in the system that contains the twelve colonies, the cylons, controlled by AI, would already spawn with a massive fleet around all the planets. the player would be tasked with preserving as many of his ships as possible and getting them out of the system. he would then have to find earth or kobol (would would have a wormhole to the new caprica system, which in turn would have a wormhole to the ionian nebula, which in turn would, well we'll have to see how season 4 works out)

also, the galactica should have an ablity similer to the Kol battlecrusiurs (sorry,not a great speller) flak burst, but with a longe duration.
