Problem with router

Hi there. I understand how to forward ports because I used to host behind a firewall in WC3. My problem is that when I go to my port forwarding settings via 192.168.1.1 I have insufficient room to put in the application name. The application name area only accepts like 12 characters so 'Sins of a Solar Empire.exe' won't fit. Are there any ways around this or any 3rd party programs that will allow me to do this? Thanks.

Try renaming the exe to sins.exe or something else shorter. Just be sure to update any shortcuts.

In most cases "application name" is redundant and doesn't in fact even have to match what the .exe is. Try it, put "santa" in there, as long as the ports and endpoint IP are correct I'll bet it'll work! :p

Yeah, the application name in a router's forwarding options is purely for your own reference (so you know why you set it when you look in the settings again some time in the future).
