Retail in the EU?

At the moment there is no distributor for Europe. They're negotiating with one, but it will probably be a while before the game shows up in european stores.
However, i can happily recommend purchasing it directly from stardock themselves.
They offer the option of digital download only or digital download with DVD sent after. And with the rather low dollar at the moment even the second option with the included shipping won't be too costly. (perhaps a little bit above what a new game would cost in a european game store)

Assuming you order it with DVD delivery, then it would cost $49.95 with $20 shipping you'd come out at about 49 euros, which is roughly what a new game would cost in stores here in Europe.

I'm dutch myself and ordered the digital download, which worked flawlessly.

I suspected that this was the case as I couldn't find a release date for Europe but I needed confirmation. I think I will just wait until they do find a distributor as I don't have much free time to play right now anyway.

I know I can download it directly from stardock (that's how I got GC2) but I don't have a credit card anymore and I don't plan on getting a new one soon.

I just hope that Stardock doesn't forget us, we love their games!

You're welcome, you could always set up a paypal account to pay for the game i might add. For many european countries PayPal allows you to verify your bank account instead of your creditcard to allow a form of direct-debit online purchasing. Its what i used, since i don't have a creditcard either.

Actually the one we were negotiating with just before release did not work out. So at this point all we can really do is revisit the ones we already spoke to and see if they'll change their minds. Hopefully the game's popularity so far will help, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Oh well, thank god we have stardock software, had no problems downloading GC2, so its a non issue for me.

Yeah its completely ridiculous. A major game like this and they cant get a distrubutor. They(the distrubutors) shoud be knocking down there(Stardock and Ironclads)doors and begging them to let them distrubute it. They would make a fortune.God knows there is enough of us nerds out there lol.  

All stardock needs to do is open a branch up in Europe.

You'd think.  We had one major European distributor (who I won't name but you've heard of them) say that Europeans don't like games about the future.

Of course we do... What on earth are they thinking?
