Really stupid question Gravity well?

I have only played the game for like an hour last night before i went to bed. Just wanted to clarify what you guys are talking about when you mention that its not the phase lanes correct? If its not can some one explain to me what they are. Yes i know its a dumb question but im at work and i didn't do beta so just please respond to my b00b question.

The gravity well is the spherical area around celestial objects (planets, sun, anomalies) where combat takes place and buildings can be placed (in case of planets).

Phase lanes link all celestial objects to each other (all the white lines between planets you see when you zoom out), and you can only travel from one to another via phase lanes (by right clicking on the destination, the phase lane path will have a blue movement line).

no thats fine you answered what i needed to know. Like i said it was a n00b question im not use to playing space rts i did EaW and that was about it so dont know all the correct terminology for this stuff. Thanks for the info.
