Suggestion: Need a way to blockade phase lanes in gravity wells that dont' have planets.

I find it quite annoying always having to pursue the AI as they go right past my huge fleet into my territory.

Even though my fleet could have wiped them clean, they get by to basically do a suicide run.

Phase Jump Inhibitors are OK, but at least some equivalent is needed for gravity wells without planets.

It would be nicer if there were a better way to blockade a phase lane with just ships.

Ideas:
1. Make ships vulnerable while attempting a phase jump (e.g. Shields go down) and slightly increase the setup time for a jump.
2. Make ships unable to jump when under attack. (Warp field gets disrupted, hehe)
3. Make some sort of inhibitor ship that will disrupt a limited number of enemy ships from phase jumpiming
4. Make some sort of starbase that is buildable in gravity wells without planets that can provide some logistics points to build a phase inhibitor

Anyway that was the most annoying 'feature' of the game.

I still love it!

i agree with this somewhat . love the game by the way had a lot of fun this evening (2am and im at work in 5 hours :D) however pirates abilities to just break through 10 gauss guns and 5-10 ships only to have me chase them all around the planet was infuriating!

There are certain ships that can do this to a degree once the proper tech is researched. Having to deal with these types of situations is part of the strategy. ;)

For example, see Jarrasul Evacuator's Gravity Warhead ability. Mass disruption goodness :D

huh say what ? :P i think i just need to play more to try and discover a method of doing this!

On the other hand, remember that in a novel a useful plot device was like "we need to get to the enemy planet.... is there any way to push through them quickly before they realize we're there?"
Maybe? Or am I talking through my forehead here?

This neutral space was added in so their couldn't be completly set choke points that would eventually cuase stale mate.
