While I'm still playing and modding...I can't say its completely "understandable" to work on a something not out yet when you know something that is out is having a major problem.
That is standard for software development project planning. Software is complicated, and requires advanced scheduling of time and resources to develop and support. Budgets have to be met, timetables adhered to, etc. Yes, there are bugs and usually they are not dealt with one at a time, but addessed in larger groups, usually in the form of scheduled release updates. There (normally) a set of updates which are scheduled to be included in a new build of the software and throwing things in at the last minute is usually not a good idea.
Also, they have to pay the bills. Meeting the project deadlines for TA will probably allow Stardock to improve there bottom line and thus allow them to continue supporting the product we all (mostly) love.
