Sector Numbers?

This may sound like a dumb question but here goes. ... Maps are divided into sectors. From time to time it would be nice to know how they are numbered. In the campaign I'm playing, I'm directed to go to sector 1,3. Where is that?

The coordinates of the sector you're looking at currently are displayed at the top center of the screen. They're numbered starting from the "west" (on the minimap) corner.

I hated that (Death of the Korx) mission. The sector you're looking for is just below the Korx homeworld (I think it's 2 sectors down). Don't bother doing any world development. Just try to get a constructor down as near to there as possible and build a starbase. Then move a ship (the fastest you can make/trade for) down to the sector and you win. The problem is those darn DL's will blow up the SB fairly quickly.
