A problem with Allies

The galactic situation is like this:
The only remaining civs are: me(Terrans),Arcean's, Altarian's and Torian's
Aliances: Me- Arceans and Altarians
Arceans - Me
Torians - Altarians

I'm at war with the Torians. Altarians aren't joining the fun because they are allies of both sides. The problem is that the Arceans aren't joining the war, and I could use their help. Anyway the question is - how do you demand allies help in a war?

Unfortunately, you can't add Attack So-and-So to your buy/demand list on the Speak To page unless the AI you're talking to has low enough relations with the AI that you want them to attack.

This is one of the main weaknesses in GC2 diplo/espionage, IMO. I should be able to apply some kind of pressure to relations between AIs to achieve exactly the goal you're after. Especially when the AI I want to influence is my ally.

I would simply try to end the war with the Torians, and then try to get them to ally with you. That should end the game, right?

Alternately, get the torians to make peace and then provoke them into attacking you again. The Arceans would then be obligated to help out, since Alliances are basically just a combination non-aggression/mutual defense agreement

This was the cause of starting this war I tried to get to ally with me. I was giving them trilions, and I couldn't ally with them to end the game, so I decided to end this by destroying them.

Heh. Good plan, but next time, goad THEM into starting the war, so that your allies will have to declare war in turn!
