Civ4 and GalCiv2. A match made in heaven!

"A Great Hybrid"

From what I heard(mainly rumors), the developers of Civ4 and GalCiv2 are pretty good friends. So that got me wondering. Could there ever be a GalCiv2 based expansion/sequel for Civ4? Don't know but I personally would love to play that kind of game. Another cool thing would be learning the history of the other races. Still the best feature would be the option to create your own "alternate History" for the differant races. I already got a list of possible scenarios. So tell me what you think.

Scenario A/B: They are both similar to classic Civ except you play as either the Dregin or Arcean. Dark Avatar says the Dregin has "tribes." Which is probably the future remains of their homeworld's nation-states. I also figure the Arceans have a similar situation. So anyway you start out on an identical copy of their homeworld. But before, you are offered the country that really did Dominate or any of the others. Thus creating Alternate history. The only other races this is type of scenario would be good for is the Korx or the minor races. Since the others races seemed to evolve united.

Scenario C: You play as ethier the Drath or the Altarians on Altaria. Both races are trying to dominate the planet. The Altarians win when the Drath dissapear; while the Drath must destroy all Altarians to win.

Scenario D: (Dregin Invasion Alternate History) The Torians have found out about the dregin in advance. The invasion will be much harder. Play as ethier race as you try to enslave or save the planet Toria.

Scenario E: (Torian Rebellion) The time has come for the Torians to gain their freedom. Play as the rebels to gain your freedom or as the Dregin so that the Torians will never become a galatic thorn in the Dregin's side.

Scenario F: (Slave Revolt) The Yor have decided to start a genocide against their masters.
Play as the Yor and fufill the true history or play as the Iconians and prevent the future Exodus.

Scenario G: (Brave New World) The Iconian survivors have landed on their new world. It is your goal to re-establish civilization while trying to prevent a Civil War between the race's new Feudal Lords.

Suggestions are very welcome!

Thought of another scenario based on the Terran Alliance.

Scenario H: (Earth's Pleasant Little Civil War) The Terran Alliance has finally evolved into a Star Federation. Still the Nation-States of Earth are angry about the power they lost over the other colonies. They successfully force the Terran Government off Earth, but it appears that war is on the Horizion. The other Alien Civilizations (except Drath, Korx, and the Korath since they are gone in Dark Avatar) take immediate interest in the situation. They can't invade any of the Humans' planets because of the economical consequences. But that doesn't mean that they wouldn't love to establish a puppet regime. Soon the Other Races help establish 9 new Mega-Nations to start World War III or IV. The following nations will not settle for anything less then complete Military Victory.

Holy Islamic Republic (Krynn)
African Tribal Alliance (Thalan)
Civilized Scientific Antartic Refuge (Iconian)
Oceanic Union (Torian)
Neo East Asian Empire (Yor)
Revived Soviet Empire (Dregin)
Confederate States of Europe (Arcean)
Greater United States of America (Altarian)
Amazonian Commonwealth (League of Independent Planets)

The player is free to play any of the Mega-Nations, but be warned. If you rely on your alien friend to much, you could end up being the ruler of a puppet regime instead of a new Galatic Order.

Thanks for Reading. If you got any ideas for other scenarios, please post!

Similar to Scenario H, except wth a few Major Differences.

Scenario I: (Alternate History: A Very Galactic World War I)

Backstory: Humanity learned and grew very much in the 19th Century. Every Human Being began looking at one another as equals. The Desire for a World Government grew until the beginning of the 20th Century. Final in the year 1910, Humanity was united. Thus preventing any World War, Economical Depressions, and threat of a Nuclear Holocaust. Technology evolved and the entire planet was soon powered by Solar, Wind, and Hydro Power by the 1950's. The next fifty years was spent on Ecological improvement; thus increasing Earth's PQ dramatically.

Still not all would be well. Six worm holes appeared in the home solar systems of the Yor, Dregin, Arcean, Altarian, Drath, and Torian. They all discovered that the worm holes lead to a Blue Planet that had a PQ higher then anyone of them has ever seen. Stargates were soon built around the worm holes, causing the worm holes to become premanent. Eventually the six races discover each other orbiting Earth. So they decide that the best way to figure out ownership rights was to have a Total War on the Planet. Then on 2010 the aliens land on Earth. The World government quickly dissolves as refuges head to the moon and Antartica. World War 1 is finally ready to truely begin.

The Player will have to make big ethical choices throughout the game. Will they protect the Humans or will they turn them into cattle. Th Choice is all yours as your play any of the following races.

Yor: start with Africa
Dregin: start with Europe and Russia (at its greatest size)
Arcean: start with the rest of Mainland Asia and Japan
Altarian: start with North America
Drath: start with South America
Torian: start with Australia, Indonesia, the Plilippines, and the rest of Oceania

The new Civ4 expansion already contains a scenario Final Frontier that turns Civ into a sort of GalCiv lite. I imagine these suggestions would be possible.

The final frontier mod is quite good, if limited in comparison to gal civ.
I can already see some mods using the FF base and going all trek and star wars on us.

I think that galciv still has the greater mod freedom, and in terms of gameplay, i'll stick to galciv for my space strategy. Civ is for my ground based war.

The GC2 universe is surely rich enough to be material for a CIV4 mod, though I wonder if the GC2 ruleset can really be emulated in CIV4.
