So I pre-ordered the game and d/l the client via stardock... Only thing is available is the single race and single player... But anyway... I started a game and all system have pirate ships. I send in some light ships to kill them and they do target the pirates but nothing happens... when I colonize a planet they start bombarding it... What gives...?! *Sigh*

Hmm, I'm not sure what the problem is. Is it that your ships aren't attacking the pirates?

well they did not... but after i came back and loaded from saved fgame they started to attack pirates just fine.... Also does the current beta have 1 faction only?

Yes it is only the Trader Emergency Coalition (TEC) faction in the beta thus far. The pirates not attacking bug is probably the same as the ships not attacking bug which is fixed and will be in the hotfix being released soon.

yea sometime even on grav well attack mode the red lines that indicate they wish to attack appear but not all the ships move to get in range which is stupid. but as u said u prob gonna fix it  
ps how many patches (not hot fixes) can we expect?
