is it safe?

Hi.

I have not really kept up with the "file deletion" problem mentioned here. So I'm wondering, is it safe now to download and install all sorts of things from stardock?

So far I have not had any problems. But I only have used version 0.99 of SDC an later.

From the download faq thread it seems that the download (or rather the deletion) problems have been resolved by the current version of stardock.

As for the game being safe to download - it's NOT. I got galciv on the 25th, and haven't been to bed since. Nor have I bathed or eathen and (I think, but I can't go check right now that) my wife has left me... the only break from the game my smelly, starving, near corpse has had is to visit the galciv forums. My dog is so hungry he's eating my leg right now - but I don't need the leg to play galciv anway. So BEWARE! This could happen to you - and you would like it. ;)

Thanks guys. I'm off to pick up a copy from EB at the mall.

Ack... my second paragraph should have said "safe to play" not "safe to download". I must be tired.

In summary:

Safe to download: Yes (the problems with file deletions seem to have been *quickly* resolved - check the "FAQ: Download Problems" for details.

Safe to play: No (because like me, you'll become sleep deprived and/or starve).

I sure wish we had an edit feature for the forum.
